Books of all different genres will be up for sale in Maroske Hall at Horsham College on Dimboola Road.
The doors will open from noon to 9pm on Friday and from 9am to noon on Saturday.
Chaplain committee chairwoman Yolande Grosser said the book fair attracted people of all age groups.
"A lot of people walk in with two bags of books, they donate it on their way in and walk out with new books. It is such an awesome way to recycle," she said.
The book fair raises about $5000 each year.
Mrs Grosser said about 10,000 books would be up for sale.
A cafe at the hall will sell sausage rolls and soup and accept gold coin donations for the chaplaincy program.
Lead teacher of the Horsham College Alternate program, Liam Offer, said students would be rostered to help sort and collect books for the event.
