Wednesday is expected to be very cold too, with Ararat forecast to reach just nine degrees, and 10 degrees for Stawell.
The State Emergency Service advises people to move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure loose items and keep clear of fallen power lines.
A sheep graziers warning has also been issued for the Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland and parts of the Mallee with cold temperatures and rain predicted.
Stawell has enjoyed a good amount of rainfall throughout May after an extremely dry start to the year.
