The 21-year-old went under the knife on Tuesday to remove a bakers cyst from his right knee. A baker's cyst is a fluid-filled cyst that causes a bulge and a feeling of tightness behind the knee.
Berry is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks due to the surgery. This timeline would see Berry return late in the season for a possible finals appearance.

Brisbane Lions' general manager of football David Noble said Berry's knee was sore after the team's round nine victory against Adelaide.
"After discussions with our medical team and Jarrod, surgery was agreed upon as the best solution going forward," he said.
"With Jarrod having a previous Baker's cyst, we have some previous information on how his body reacts to these and used that information to help us make an informed decision."
"We anticipate that his return would be around six weeks but will have a clearer picture once he has his surgery."
Berry was having a strong year with the Lions, averaging 20.8 disposals and 4.8 marks per game over nine games in 2019.
