Held as part of the 2019 Art Is... Festival, the event was held across both the Horsham Town Hall and Horsham Art Gallery on Sunday.
A huge range of art and craft activities were on offer throughout the afternoon, including Boomerang Bag decorating, clay art, Bollywood dancing and circus acts.
Christy Flaws and Luke O'Connor from theatre group Asking For Trouble premiered their new show, Pick Up Sticks.
Art Play Sunday project manager Elaine Uebergang has run the event for the past three years. She said the aim of Art Play Sunday was to encourage children to get creative.
"The idea is to give kids a get afternoon away from the couch and away from the computer and use their imaginations and creativity," she said.
"We had lots of physical activities and instead of eating junk food, we got them to make fruit skewers.
"The education room was completely transformed by the Oasis Wimmera ladies, with costumes to try-on and Bollywood dancing.
"The main hall was a buzz. We had St Brigid's College and Holy Trinity Lutheran College students putting on activities. One of the fabulous ladies who makes Boomerang Bags made us 140 of them for the kids to decorate.
She said it was important that children become interested in art at a young age.
"Hopefully these kids will be inspired and running their own activity in a few year's times. It's also just great for them to use their imagination," she said.
