Sergeant Darren Wright said there had been an increase in minor damage incidents during the past month.
"All together we're having some difficulties with vandalism. We're calling on the community to provide police with any information they have and to report suspicious behavior," he said.
Sergeant's Wright's comments come after a fire was deliberately lit in the Band Park public toilet block last month.
Police are also investigating a recent burglary at the West Wimmera Shire depot in which a significant quantity of cash was taken.
Kaniva Senior Constable Peter Rose said the latest spate of vandalism included damage to the Madden Street, Kaniva public toilet.
"We know that between 10am on Wednesday and 6.30am on Thursday that the toilet paper holder was smashed off the wall in the female toilets. The damage is valued at $200," he said.
"On Friday night, there was a significant amount of smashed glass bottles found around the hockey field. There has also been some minor vandalism to a window at the netball sheds.
"Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen people hanging around."
Senior Constable Rose said people could call the Kaniva Police Station on 5392 2244 with information.
