Station commander Sergeant Bill Alford said five of the motorists were caught going between 15 and 25 kilometres an hour over the 100 speed limit on Friday.
While a 28-year-old man from Long Gully, near Ballarat, and a 61-year-old man from Parkdale in Melbourne were caught doing 134 and 135 respectively.
"They both received penalty notices and have had their licences suspected for three months," Sgt Alford said.
"That area is a speed hotspot that we target, and it is disconcerting to see so many motorists speeding, but I think it shows the amount of traffic we've had on the road today with the long weekend.
Other motorists caught were from Grantville, near Phillip Island, Carrum, Brighton, Bentleigh and a 38-year-old man from Rutherford in New South Wales.
Victoria Police's annual Operation Regal began on Friday, during which they will focus on impaired driving, increased traffic on rural roads, towing trailers and caravans, and trail bike riding in state forests and parks.
Road Policing Command Assistant Commissioner Stephen Leane said if the community continues to believe it will not happen to them, the number of lives lost on the road will continue to skyrocket.
"Every day police continue to attend crash scenes where people have consciously chosen to speed, not wear their seatbelt or drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol," AC Leane said.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said enforcement activities would vary across the state with police focusing on traffic corridors that link metropolitan areas to popular holiday destinations including the Grampians.
