WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are expected to develop over parts of western Victoria on Sunday night.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for an area that includes the Grampians.
The damaging winds are expected to develop over areas above 700 metres in the warning area late Sunday and early Monday.
The winds are expected to ease in the western parts of the warning area on Monday morning and the eastern parts on Monday afternoon.
People are advised to move vehicles under cover or away from trees; secure or put away loose items outside; and keep clear of fallen power lines.
