Horsham Rural City Council is seeking expressions of interest for its Creative Horsham Project Reference Group.
The group will help develop the council's Creative Horsham (Arts and Cultural) Plan 2019-2023.
Council's community wellbeing director Kevin O'Brien said the plan would outline the council's involvement and investment in cultural activities and arts practice within Horsham.
"The group will contribute to the community's vision so as to help guide the council's involvement and investment in cultural activities and arts practice over the next five years," he said.
"It is important that the voice of the arts community is heard in the process of developing a new Arts and Cultural Plan and having a community-based project reference group is a good way of ensuring that occurs."
Group members will provide the council with strategic advice and feedback about arts and cultural development in the municipality.
Members will have a period of engagement for approximately six months, or through to the end of 2019.
Mr O'Brien said members with a diversity of skills and experiences were being sought.
"While there is no fixed number of people being sought, it is anticipated that a diverse group of about 10 to 15 people will be appointed," he said.
"Applicants may have backgrounds in arts administration, performing or visual arts, dance or theatre, film or crafts. Or they may be skilled in marketing, finance, tourism or facility management, with an interest in arts and culture."
The council already has a dedicated Art Gallery Advisory Committee and a Public Arts Advisory Committee.
Nominations for the group close on June 24.
