After several seasons spent playing juniors and B Grade, Weir has stepped-up to become a mainstay in the Lakers A Grade side in 2019.
The talented youngster said it was a difficult but valuable challenge in the top grade.
"A Grade has been a bit of a challenge but it's been really enjoyable," Weir said. "Playing with people better than me, you learn a lot which is really fun.
"It's a lot faster, and having to play 15 minute quarters is harder, but it's been really good for me so far.
"After two games I'm always pretty sore on Sunday, but I've definitely enjoyed it."
Another important learning curve for Weir this season came from her involvement with the 17-and-under interleague side. Weir was a key component, starting at goal attack for a lot of the district league's matches.
Weir said she loved the standard of netball, and said the side's clash against Loddon Valley that went to overtime was "probably the best game of netball" she had ever played.
"It was just such good quality and really intense," she said.
"I enjoyed it so much, it was my first time in interleague and I learnt so much from it.
"Having a different coach and playing with a heap of talented girls, it was just so much fun."
While Taylors Lake are yet to win an A Grade match this season, their 17-and-under side are flourishing, undefeated through eight games.
The side is well placed to continue Weir's streak of winning the premiership in her top age junior year. She has previously won a 13-and-under and a 15-and-under premiership with Taylors Lake.
This weekend's clash against Kalkee however is the Lakers biggest challenge yet. The Kees are also undefeated and sit just behind the Lakers on percentage.
"I'm really looking forward to the game this weekend," Weir said. "I'm really enjoying 17s this year. We've had a couple of really good wins and some tight games.
"I'm playing with some of my best friends as well which makes it a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable."
In the headline A Grade contest this weekend, Edenhope-Apsley will test themselves against one of the league's top sides when they host Natimuk United.
In other clashes, Rupanyup will try to snap a seven game losing streak against Noradjuha-Quantong, Laharum host Jeparit-Rainbow and Pimpinio travel to take on Laharum.
