The final score was Minyip-Murota 65 goals to Ararat's 42 goals.
The first quarter started out strong but things quickly went downhill in the second, and the Burras were able to gain a lead that the Rats could not catch up to for the remainder of the game.
"Just like last week we started off really strong and then a second quarter lapse pretty much decides the game," A grade coach Taylor Mason said.
"I said it last week about keeping a level head - we couldn't do it again this week and that's what has caused the result I think."
It's the Rats' second defeat in a row since returning from a bye but Mason said she wasn't disappointed with the outcome.
"Obviously it sucks to lose but I'm not disappointed - there's a lot of things to learn from it which we'll work on at training. We'll get them next time," she said.
The side faced a depleted playing list which Mason said impacted the outcome of the game.
"We'll be excited to have Megan Shea and Krystal Fisher back in next week," she said.
"It's been a shame that we have had these players absent against the two strongest teams of the season, but I definitely think at full ability we can match both of the teams that just rolled us."
There were still plenty of performances that stood out.
"Delaney McLoughlan dominated in the goals," Mason said.
"They put a couple of different players on her and she beat every single one of them. She was definitely our strongest. Tayla Borelli had a go in goals and in wing attack. Her passes into the ring are just perfect.
"Raquel Scott all day long on that goal shooter, and Kirby Night is a gun."
