Also up for grabs was the Grampians Excavation Cup and $5000.
The cup is part of a four-year sponsorship deal between Grampians Excavations and the Warriors, now in its second year.
The two senior football sides fought in miserable conditions with freezing rain and mud making simple things like keeping a grip on the ball an uphill battle.
The Giants had a strong opening quarter but the following two were neck and neck with neither side gaining a true advantage.
The third quarter ended with the Giants holding the lead by a mere point.
Warriors coach Damian Joiner said it was "anybody's game."
"It was a tough four quarters of footy," he said.
"The footy was going anywhere and everywhere."
"It was a pretty rough day for it, conditions were pretty tough and it was just an old school contested game of footy really."
With the two sides proving equally strong most of the game, the fourth quarter became the deciding one, which Joiner said didn't quite deliver what the Warriors needed.
"Unfortunately we couldn't quite get it over the line towards the end," he said.
"We leaked a couple of easy goals towards the end and got them four points.
"Everyone was confident and we felt we were on top with general play, it was just whenever they went forward they scored a little bit too easy.
"We've got a couple of things there to work on."
