Joshua Robert Soderman, 30, appeared in Horsham Magistrates' Court on Monday, charged with drug-driving and breaching an interlock condition.
The court heard that Soderman was driving in Albert Street, Horsham on September 10 at 4.40pm when he was intercepted by police.
He tested positive for methamphetamine. He told police at the time that he hadn't consumed any drugs recently.
On another occasion, Soderman was driving in Wilson Street, Horsham, on March 30 at 2.40pm when police stopped him.
Police found there was no interlock device in his car, which was a requirement of his licence.
Soderman told police at the time that he had just been released from prison and the interlock cost too much to maintain, so he had it removed while he was in jail and hadn't put it back into the vehicle.
He told the court that he was sorry and wanted his driver's licence back so he could get a job.
Magistrate Peter Dunn fined Soderman $1500. His driver's licence was cancelled and disqualified for 12 months.
