The exhibition is an initiative by Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-Operative and will be celebrated as part of NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week, which runs from July 8 to 14.
The event will start with a flag raising ceremony on Firebrace Street at 9.30am. The exhibition will be opened at 10am and will display more than 100 pieces of art exhibited by local artists.
Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative manager Dean O'Loughlin said there would be a range of mediums including canvas, metalwork, craft, contemporary and traditional art forms.
Artist and project facilitator Tanisha Lovett said about 75 artists had contributed to the exhibitions, including herself. About 20 of Ms Lovett's artwork will be displayed at the exhibition.
"I usually try and incorporate traditional stories and meanings. I then try to transition that in my life and my own little stories," she said.
