Despite the changing faces around her, the sharp-shooter has impressed at the forefront of the Eagles' attack.
McKenzie said she was relishing the move into a senior role and helping her new partners in the goal ring.
"It's been a bit of a tough year, with losing Megan at the end of last year, who is having another baby," she said.
"We also have Molly Stewart who has come up from the under-17's, so it's been a bit of a learning curve. But we're all getting used to each other and slowly getting the hang of things.
"I've really enjoyed being one of the senior players. Everyone takes advice from each other and steps up when they need to. So, it's not a lot of pressure. It's good."
McKenzie played a key hand in the Warrack Eagle's minor premiership last season, finishing in the top 10 of the Hatcher Medal count alongside star teammates Megan Werner and Emma Koschitzke.
But the goalie noted that her side's success in recent years had been built on a strong camaraderie within the group.
McKenzie said it was that supportive environment that made it easy to step on to the court each weekend.
"I love my netball team, and we just have so much fun on a gameday and at training. It's such an awesome club to be around," she said.
"The club itself is just amazing. It's pretty much just a big family really, and we all support each other. It's an awesome group, and everyone is just so easy to get along with."
The Warrack Eagles sit in fourth place, having played in many of the season's closest games. The side has been involved in four games this season that were decided by less than four points.
McKenzie was hopeful her side could find top form as they enter the home stretch of the season.
"I feel really positive about the rest of the season, and I think we can do it (win the premiership)," she said.
"We're a very small side, in terms of height, but I think when we play our best netball we've definitely got a shot.
"It's just a matter of making that consistent and performing every week."
The Warrack Eagles welcome a rested Stawell this weekend.
