The duo represented Australia proudly, with Martin finishing 30^th overall in the Girl's All Events and Brooke 42^nd in the boy's.

The event was made up of the best junior bowlers across Asia.

Brooke said while he initially hoped to finish higher in the final standings, he was proud to have represented his country.

"It was a bit of a grueling week, but as much as it was somewhat disappointing, it wasn't all bad," he said.

"It was something you had to do to understand some different things about bowling overseas and competing at that level. It was ultimately very beneficial."

Brooke was also proud of his performance in the doubles event. He averaged 216 across his six rounds, and his partner averaged 179 for the duo to finish 21^st.

"Doubles was amazing, I thought I bowled really well," Brooke said. "But even though I bowled amazing, the other teams were just another level above. They were extremely good."

Martin meanwhile had an excellent result in the teams event, finishing fourth alongside three of her compatriots.

Brooke said the standard of competition was exceptional.

"I knew they were going to be good, but some of them just don't miss," he said.

"It was mainly Japan that were really good, and Singapore dominated as well.

"There are a couple of boys in the Japan team that bowl on the professional tour over there. They are seriously good."

Brooke said participating at the international event had given him extra motivation to keep improving his game.

"It's definitely made me more excited about the possibilities, and it has made me want to work hard," Brooke said.

"As hard as it is to win a medal at an international event, it is doable. If I can get to the event I can medal, I just have to prepare well."
