The event is at the Natimuk Soldiers Memorial Hall starting at 7pm.

Secretary Elaine Uebergang said there would be variety of short films of varying lengths.

"It will be in two parts. There will be an hour of short films, supper and another hour of short films," she said.

"We would love to fill the Natimuk Hall with 120 people."

Mrs Uebergang said the film society welcomed a number of visitors throughout the year.

"When new people move into town, it is a really good way for them to meet people that they wouldn't normally encounter. It's one way of making them feel part of the Natimuk community," she said.

"It's a broad community. We have farmers and climbers and Horsham people who might not normally socialise together."

Mrs Uebergang said tickets would be available from 6.15pm at the door.

Chairperson Lynn Quick said the committee applied to host the film festival in May.

"We had the courage to apply for it. It was fairly spontaneous," she said.

Ms Quick said the film society was formed 12 years ago by Melissa Morris.

Mrs Uebergang and Ms Quick said they took over the society only six years ago.

They said they hold their monthly meetings with "wine, cheese and great conversations."

Ms Quick said: "We have members that never miss. We have a fun, friendly and inclusive."

"It is someting that has longetivity, it has had that enthusiasm all the time."
