Now entering its 41st year, there is no slowing down for Sheepvention in 2019.
Run by the Hamilton Pastoral and Agricultural Society, the three-day event from August 4 to 6 at the Hamilton Showgrounds is a showcase of all things ovine and agricultural.
There are a range of competitions including the Hamilton & Western District Sheep Show, CopRice Victorian farm dogs competition, wool handling, inventions, the AWI Young Designer Wool Awards, plus the huge range of student competitions.
Society president Will Kinghorn was delighted with the response from exhibitors so far.
"We have more than 300 rams in the sale and have had great interest from all other sections," Mr Kinghorn said.
"The feature breed this year is Heritage Breeds.
"We anticipate a full show shed again with over 1000 show sheep on display.
The farm dog events are also guaranteed be well patronised.
"With the introduction of Sunday trading the farm dogs will now have an amazing audience for each day of their jam-packed program," Mr Kinghorn said.
The inventions competition will take on an exciting new format.
The new CRT Innovations Hub will house the competition, alongside a huge array of emerging technologies.
"We are very pleased to welcome Dr Chris Russell AM as a judge and keynote speaker in the Innovations Hub," Mr Kinghorn said.
"People will know Chris from his role as judge on the ABC's New Inventors.
"We have partnered with Great South Coast Food and Fibre to secure such a high profile guest."
There is over $6000 in prize money across the four categories plus the student inventions.
Inventors will also be able to take part in discussions with seed funding organisations and receive advice on trademarks and patent.
There will also be sessions with Push Start who assist companies in their development, and provide resources for funding opportunities- which is perfect for new inventions.
