I knew there was a reason I was hanging on to all my lovely pre-children suits, dresses and casual clothes.

Okay, I didn't actually know.
I feared it was a desperate attempt to cling to the past but also suspected it was a deep appreciation of fashion in general, and in particular, those precious hard-earned items so carefully selected and proudly worn many moons ago.
All of a sudden the fog has lifted though, and a very sound and quite productive reason for my hording has presented itself.
The upcoming Horsham Arts Council's Mamma Mia! is set in the 1990s, and as a member of the ensemble, I have no further to look to dress myself than my own wardrobe, an Aladdin's cave which will provide a few choice articles that could reasonably be worn to a wedding on a Greek isle during that decade.
Please feel free to laugh.
The shoulder pads alone are ridiculous, but the vibrant colours and skimpy amounts of cloth utilised are sure to keep audience eyes wide open.
I must admit that it was a bit of a shock for me, when I first realised that these prized bits and bobs of mine were actually a history lesson for most of the cast and crew.
I could never understand the dizzying amount of eye rolling my girls would engage in when offered my fabulously cute Levi denim jacket to wear out to lunch or a tiny pair of shorts to while away the summer hours.
I sort of forgot that I'd been around for so long, and that high-waisted jeans went out of fashion for about 20 years before they came back in again.
I'm not complaining about the timing there either; now is exactly when I want my tummy nicely tucked away, although those hipsters after childbirth were excruciatingly unforgiving.
Apart from my tummy, when trying on my vintage treasures, my breech babies seem to have flared my ribs, making the two halves of my zippers worlds apart just above my middle.
So busy living a full life, I forgot the clock was ticking away on fashion.
I could never understand the dizzying amount of eye rolling my girls would engage in when offered my fabulously cute Levi denim jacket to wear out to lunch or a tiny pair of shorts to while away the summer hours.
While fashion may not be nuts enough to come completely full circle, some of my favourite clothes are about to give life another crack.
