Edenhope-Apsley product Oscar McDonald was sent to unfamiliar territory in Melbourne's forward line and seized his chance.

The 23-year-old kicked the first goal of his career in the Demons' 17-point loss against Collingwood.

McDonald was stationed at full-forward when a loose ball founds its way to him deep in the final quarter.

The usual defender sent his opponent the wrong way before calmly sending a left-foot snap straight and true to collect his first goal in 74 games.

Elsewhere, a Horsham derby played out on the biggest stage when St Kilda hosted Fremantle on Sunday.

Former Horsham Demon Seb Ross won the bragging rights, as he dragged his Saints to a three-point victory.

Ross amassed 28 disposals and nine tackles on his way to being named St Kilda's best.

Darcy Tucker stood out for Fremantle, despite being on the wrong end of the scoreline.

The Horsham Saints product racked up 10 contested possessions and a team-high seven clearances to be named among the Dockers' best.

Jake Lloyd continued his stellar season with another productive performance for the Sydney Swans.

The former Demon racked up 30 disposals.

Jarrod Berry, meanwhile, impressed for Brisbane and his Lions side briefly went to the top of the table.

Berry, formerly of the Horsham Saints, made seven tackles and collected 26 disposals, at 84.6 per cent efficiency.
