Musgrove said he was excited and optimistic about his third season at the helm.
"This year obviously hasn't panned out how we wanted," Musgrove said.
"We haven't had much luck with injuries, but we've shown that when we have our best side, we can match it with the best of them."
Musgrove's season has been emblematic of Rupanyup's injury woes, with the key-forward fracturing his kneecap in round nine and missing the next six weeks.
Musgrove then suffered a punctured lung in his comeback game against Edenhope-Apsley a fortnight ago.
"My first game back and I only lasted a quarter," Musgrove said.
"It's really disappointing ... but everyone has injuries, so we just need to build that depth. We get a couple of injuries and it's really tough to replace.
"So we're hoping to recruit a good base of players to help if we have that injury crisis again, and creating some competition for spots."
Unlike the previous two seasons, Musgrove will also be staying in the area across the summer, which he hoped would assist with the club's recruiting efforts.
"We'll go pretty hard with recruiting, and recruiting locally," he said.
"The core group we've got is really good, so if we can just add those couple of gun players, and some midfielders, I think we can go a really long way next season."
