Jade Kahukura, 34, appeared in Melbourne County Court on August 10.
He pleaded guilty to theft, burglary, handling stolen goods, aggravated burglary, theft of a firearm and attempted theft.
The court heard the crime spree happened between April and July 2017, starting with the theft of a car from Noble Park between April 3 and 4.
Kahukura stole a Holden ute from a Pimpinio address between April 12 and 13, 2017.
Kahukura broke into a house at Yanac between April 13 and 17, 2017, where he stole an air-conditioner, an air compressor, shearing grinders, a model motorcycle and a television.
On April 30, 2017, Kahukura drove a stolen ute to a farm in Lower Norton, where he dumped it and stole another vehicle.
Kahukura returned to the Yanac property between May 13 and 20, 2017, and "ransacked" the house. He stole a Nintendo gaming system, a small stereo system and an assortment of antique toys.
On another occasion, Kahukura entered a garage at Warracknabeal and stole about 30 litres of fuel.
Between May 17 and 31, 2017, Kahukura entered a rural property at Mitre and stole tools.
Kahukura also stole tools from a property at Toolondo between May 23 and 24, 2017.
Kahukura stole from rural properties at Moyston, Donald, and Victoria Valley between April and May 2017. He also stole a boat from Cape Jaffa on May 25, 2017.
He stole cars in the Warrnambool area between June and July 2017.
Kahukura stole fuel from a BP Service Station at Stawell on June 6, 2017
In sentencing, Judge Michael McInerney said overall Kahukura faced 20 theft charges and seven burglary charges.
He described Kahukura's actions as a "spree of criminality".
"There were significant burglaries and also significant thefts and ransackings," he said.
"I am concerned in particular about the burglary at Yanac, where the victim came back not only to find the goods stolen, but the trashing of the house.
"If that is not bad enough, she then unfortunately re-visited and the house was done over again and further items stolen."
Mr McInerney said in another significant incident Kahukura was driving a stolen vehicle on Blue Ribbon Road, Horsham, on May 30, 2017.
He said when police tried to intercept him, he did a U-turn and accelerated away.
"During that time, he crossed over the wrong side of the road into a path of an oncoming truck, while still speeding at somewhere between 160 kilometres and 170 kilometres an hour.
"Given the speeds, the chase was abandoned."
Mr McInerney said it was lucky no-one in the community was killed as a result of his driving.
The court heard that Kahukura had been addicted to drugs for six to seven years.
"But, in particular, during this spree, he was addicted to the drug ice," Mr McInerney said.
He said Kahukura's actions were the result of a full-blown addiction.
"You have to get money and you will do what you have to, to do that," he said.
Mr McInerney sentenced Kahukura to seven years and four months in prison, with a non-parole period of four years.
Kahukura had already served 92 days.
Mr McInerney said Kahukura was originally from New Zealand and would likely be deported on release from prison.
