More than 200 participants will compete at the three-day event from Friday to Sunday, performing both solo and group routines.
Horsham Calisthenics College principal coach Kylie Hermans said there was a higher number of senior competitors this year. She also said there would be 151 solo items across the three days.
"Overall our numbers have remained pretty steady which is great and shows that people keep coming back," she said.
Participants travel as far as Mt Gambier, Naracoorte, Ballarat, Mildura and Warrnambool for the competition.
Mrs Hermans said the competition helped boost the Wimmera's economy.
"(Participants) stay in town for a number of days and there are plenty of opportunities for them to spend money locally. They also spend time exploring the region while they're here," she said.
She said calisthenics was a unique and exciting sport to be involved in.
"We always tell our students that it's not about placing, but rather it's nice to be recognised," she said.
"Performing in front of an audience also helps their confidence. It's nice for the students to perform a routine a number of times."
The 2019 Horsham Calisthenics College competition will be at the Horsham Town Hall from August 23 to 25.
Mrs Hermans said people could buy tickets at the door or from the town hall's website. Weekend and session passes are available.
