Melinda Keel can remember when her mother-in-law was Murtoa's canteen manager and the passion she held for her beloved club.

With enthusiasm for the club deep-rooted in the family, it was no surprise that Melinda herself would become a big part of gameday.
Though even she didn't think she'd take on the same role held by her mother-in-law all those years ago.
"I didn't really think about it too much before I took on the role," Mrs Keel said. "But it's nice to know it's carrying on a family tradition.
"She was quite comical, banging on the tin walls and cheering on the mighty Magpies as it was known then."
Mrs Keel approached the previous canteen manager after she decided it was time to take on a volunteer role.
"I worked under her for a few years and then when she decided she had enough, she asked if I would take it on.
"I agreed. It's not that hard of a job, and it's a way to give back to the club."
On game day, Mrs Keel estimated they go through 250 pies, 120 sausage rolls and 100 pasties.
"You do get sick of seeing pies and hotdogs at the end of the day," she said. "Different clubs bring different crowds and as much as you try and plan, you never get it right."
During the week, Mrs Keel said she spends around 10 hours preparing and then another 10 hours on Saturday itself.
"The job is rewarding, working with other people who you might not associate with otherwise," she said.
"It's a great way to form relationships with people from all areas of the club.
"This year has been a little different with playing every game at our ground. We've shared the load with the Minyip girls which has been good.
"I do look forward to away games. It's nice to go and watch football and relax on the weekends."
