It comes after a water main burst on Tuesday night damaged road infrastructure.
The incident happened at a traffic island near the intersection with Urquhart Street about 6pm.
Horsham Rural City Council's infrastructure director John Martin said a section of burst pipe was removed by GWMWater and the road pavement had been reinstated.
"However the intersection will be closed over the weekend to allow the road base to cure before the final layer of road base is compacted," he said.
"We ask drivers and pedestrians to watch out for safety and detour signs while driving in the vicinity."
He said alternatives routes included Wilson and Hamilton streets.
