Currently there are around 20 dogs in foster care and just 15 cats thanks to the July promotion.
Adoptable Pet Rescue was formed in 2013 by Lynley Hoileys and Ash Dark.
The pair saw a high rate of euthanasia in the region and wanted to make a difference.
Since then the group has grown with six people in the core group plus foster carers.
The group help all animals but their main rescues are cats and dogs.
Adoptable Pet Rescue secretary Lauren Del Rio was rescuing animals through her role as vet at the time the group was formed.
When it started she jumped on board as a foster carer and to assist with health management.
Today foster carers are still needed.
"Fostering is our biggest requirement we can never have too many foster carers," she said.
"We match the right foster animal to foster home.
"If you're someone who wants puppies and kittens in your life we'd love to have you as foster carers saving lives."
Dogs are typically surrendered when they are between 12 and 18 months old.
"It's behavioural issues 90 per cent of the time," Lauren said.
"People haven't put in the time to socialise them and train them properly.
"People need to be proactive."
If you get a puppy make sure you have time to put in to make sure they're a happy, healthy and social dog.

Aside from training and socialisation the other main responsibilities for pet owners is desexing and microchipping.
"Desexing is important so we're not producing more animals and if your pet is lost a microchip will mean they can come home and not be in a pound," Lauren said.
In a bid to increase desexing rates the group is offering support to the owners of female cats in the area.
"We will pay for your female cat to be desexed if you are a Stawell residents or close neighbour," Lauren said.
"If you have an entire female cat and can't afford to get her desexed we'll help.
"Kitten season is about to begin and it's the bain of our existence."
Thanks to the support of fosters and two local businesses Petstock Stawell and Westway Nursery Stawell a lot of cats find homes quickly.
"Westway have them roaming around and people can meet them and see their personality," Lauren said.
