Harrow-Balmoral will be looking to conclude a barn-storming season with a grand final win this weekend, but face a tough contest against a resurgent Laharum outfit.

The Mountain Men had to take the hard route to the grand final, but took it in their stride, as they rightfully earned their place in the big dance.

The Southern Roos, meanwhile, finished the season on top of the ladder, with only one loss, coming at the hands of Laharum.

Harrow-Balmoral coach Ryan McLure said the group were ready for a shot at the premiership.

"It's a big thing. They're not overly excited, just taking it in their stride," he said.

"With the seniors and reserves in (grand finals) as well, it's just a continuation of another game almost. We've all still been training together."

McLure said his players had remained calm heading into the big dance.

"There's such a large group of top age kids, and there's quite a few of them that have been there before and know what it's like," he said.

"They're just not getting ahead of themselves, which is quite pleasing."

Laharum coach Tony Cameron said it would be an exciting contest.

"I think the two sides in it (grand final) are standouts this year. If you turn off for 10 minutes, the opposition will have your measure in no time," he said.

"It's a very even match-up with two quality sides full of junior footballers."

Cameron said the grand final would be a new experience for many in the team, but he hoped a few senior players would take charge.

"Quite a few of our blokes have had a few games with the seniors, so hopefully that gives them a little bit of an edge to combat that Harrow-Balmoral side," he said.

Cameron said it would be a special occasion.

"I think there's a lot of people looking forward to it outside of our footy and outside of Harrow-Balmoral.

"I'm just glad that we're there and part of it, because the teams are very evenly matched and hopefully it's a cracking game."

Swifts and Taylors Lake were nearly inseparable in the home and away season, and the league's top two sides will clash again in Saturday's grand final.

Swifts finished the season as minor premiers but went down by eight points against the Lakers in the qualifying semi-final.

The young side was forced to earn their place in the big dance through a preliminary final hit-out against Pimpinio, but easily accounted for the Tigers by 25 points.

The win sent Swifts into a second-consecutive grand final against Taylors Lake.

Swifts coach Corey Fox said his charges had earned the right to appear in the season's showcase fixture.

"To make the grand final again is a massive reward for the kids who have committed to the club," he said.

"We've definitely got better as the year goes on - the kids have worked really hard."

Fox said going into the grand final he wanted the players to come away with no regrets.

"I hope they all do their best," he said. "My message will stay the same as it has been all year. Play to the game plan and work hard.

"I find we play our best football when we're sharing the ball around and everyone is getting involved," he said.

"You don't want to be a one-man team; you want to get contributions from everyone."

The Swifts got the better of the Lakers both times the sides met in the home and away season.

Taylors Lake coach Adam Hall said it was always an exciting contest.

"It's a fantastic rivalry, and the kids seem to match up pretty well. So we're expecting a pretty close contest," he said.

City Oval has been a happy stomping ground for the Lakers in recent seasons.

Taylors Lake is gearing up for a third-straight grand final appearance, and a second-consecutive flag, having beaten Swifts by 30 points in last season's iteration.

"We play that ground really well," Hall said.

"So we're looking forward to getting back on there on Saturday morning and giving it our best shot."
