Harrow-Balmoral will line up in the season's showcase fixture for the second year in a row, as it chases down a first reserves premierships since 2014.
Standing opposite them will be Natimuk United, a side who know all too well what it's like to be living through a lean period.
The amalgamated club has never featured in a football grand final.
Before the 2014 merger, Natimuk last played in a grand final in 1998 and Horsham United in 2005.
Both clubs were on the wrong side of the scoreline.
Natimuk United co-coach Hayden Fleay said there was a special feeling around the group.
"We're pretty excited. All the supporters and the crowd were pretty excited on Saturday. It's been a long time since Natimuk has been in a footy grand final," he said.
"Everyone's jumped on board around town, and the place is very excited. We just can't wait for Saturday," he said.
The Rams face a tough task against a Harrow-Balmoral outfit that finished on top of the ladder, with only one loss to its name.
"They've probably been the best reserves team for the past four or five years," Fleay said.
"We're pretty big massive underdogs. When we played them, we lost by about 10 goals so there going to be the ones to beat. We'll just give it all we've got."

The Southern Roos ran out 15.6 (96) to 3.7 (25) winners when the sides last met in round eight.
Harrow-Balmoral coach Nathan Neumann said he expected a tough contest this weekend.
"It'll be a challenge. They've got some very good players in their side, but we're looking forward to the contest and hoping it goes our way," he said.
The Southern Roos lost by 13 points against Jeparit-Rainbow in last season's grand final.
"I think we've got a fair few guys who played in last year's grand final so hopefully that will help us," Neumann said.
Harrow-Balmoral's only loss of the season came in round 17 against Swifts.
Neumann said continuity would be the key message as his side approaches the big dance.
"I think we'll try and do what we've been doing all year. I don't think there's any point in changing how we've been going about it. It's been pretty successful so far," he said. "We'll focus on what we can control and hopefully that's enough."
