Horsham are chasing back-to-back premierships, while Ararat are searching for a drought-breaking flag.
The Rats have been a strong side since entering a C Grade team in 2015, but have been unable to break through for a premiership, losing two preliminary finals and one grand final across the last three seasons.
Ararat coach Breeanne Fratin said the side was full of confidence after an excellent preliminary final victory.
"They played brilliantly on Sunday, the passion was really there," Fratin said.
"If there is that passion and the pressure is on again, hopefully we can go close."
Ararat are the only side to have beaten Horsham this season, with a three-goal victory in round 17.
Fratin said they would take some confidence out of that match.
"We know we can do it, we just have to bring everything we've got on the day," Fratin said.
"I think the key matchup is to shut down their goal shooter, her height is a big advantage to Horsham, so we have to try to stop the ball through the mid-court."
Horsham coach Emma Hopper said the Dees experience could be pivotal.
"We've got some good, experienced players," she said. "That will help having people who have been there before and know what it takes.
"We haven't played Ararat in the finals before and it's a bit different to the home and away, so we'll see how it pans out."
Hopper said Horsham need to be mindful or the Rats goal shooters.
"Both of their goalies are really strong, very capable and good shots from anywhere in the ring," Hopper said.
"Our defenders will have a busy day."
