The show opens at the Horsham Town Hall on October 10.
Arts council president Simon Dandy said he was thrilled with the positive response to ticket sales.
"It's a great reward for all our efforts. I hope the demand was not only because it's a popular show, but because of our reputation of putting on a good show," he said.
Mr Dandy said it wasn't possible to extend Mamma Mia!'s season.
"This is it. We'll be performing later in the year at the RM Showcase (formally the Richard Morris Memorial Concert), and then we'll be performing Rock of Ages at the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria awards," he said.
Horsham Town Hall marketing officer Charee Smith said she was thrilled so many people were supporting the arts council.
"The last time the council opened to a sold out season was Annie in 2017, and that was the council's first full production after we opened the new town hall," she said.
"I was actually surprised that Mamma Mia! didn't sell out quicker. There is definitely this culture of leaving ticket buying to the last minute which means there will be many people who have missed out."
Ms Smith said although normal tickets had sold out, there were still spaces left for the special Taverna experience.
"We've taken out the orchestra pit with some long tables and will be serving guests with a Greek feast," she said.
Set at a hotel in the Greek Islands, Mamma Mia! follows the story of soon-to-be-married Sophie who secretly invites three men from her mother's past hoping to meeting her real father.
The musical features a variety of songs from Swedish pop superstars ABBA, including Dancing Queen, Waterloo, SOS and the eponymous Mamma Mia.
Horsham singing teacher Lisa Thomas is playing the lead role of Donna Sheridan, while Bella Patterson is playing Donna's daughter, Sophie.
Playing Sophie's three prospective fathers are Mark Deckert as Sam, Grant Johnson as Harry and Tim O'Donnell as Bill.
Maddi Ostapiw is directing, while Loucas Vettos is assistant director.
The rights for amateur productions to stage Mamma Mia! only became available this year.
