Leading Senior Constable Karyleen Hateley said an unknown number of people threw rocks at the front of the Seventh Day Adventist church on Belcher Street, smashing some of its windows.
She said it happened some time between 5pm on Friday and the same time on Saturday. The incident was reported to police on Wednesday.
"There are no suspects known at this stage," she said.
"If anyone in that area heard any noises or minor disturbances they haven't reported, we are interested to know about it."
Leading Senior Constable Hateley said people could contact 5391 1022 with information.
