The exhibition will open on Friday and will run until November 5.
It features the top art and design projects from more than 40 students from Wimmera schools, including Horsham, Ararat, Nhil, Murtoa and Donald.
Horsham College teachers Tina Fitzgerald and Luke McCallum, and Horsham Regional Art Gallery curator Alison Eggleton co-ordinated the exhibition.
The exhibition was previously held at Horsham College. Ms Eggleton said the exhibition had to be cut down slightly to fit into the new space.
"You just have to see the work here and you can tell that these kids have great potential and great skills," Ms Eggleton said.
Horsham's St Brigid's College textiles student Kira Guest inherited a love of sewing from her mother. She designed an embroidered dress fit for a Fashions on the Field winner.
"I made it for my friend to wear to the races," she said. "So I had to research cup attire as well as do a lot of interviews with her about what she wanted."
She works at Horsham Spotlight in the sewing department and hopes to be accepted to study fashion design at The Gordon in Geelong.
Horsham College woodwork student Jack Colbert built a medieval inspired rustic dining table.
"I was going for a rustic look," he said. "An old table with thick leg space that looks sturdy using nice timber and with a nice frame."
He plans to take a gap year after finishing his exams before starting a civil engineering degree.
Many of the art and design works had a sustainable focus, with Kira and Jack both using eco-friendly or recycled materials in their projects.
Works on display include timber and metal furniture items, dresses, paintings, drawings, promotional and packaging items, and short films.
Ms Fitzgerald said there was an opportunity for the public to vote for a People's Choice Award, which is a cash prize of $250.
All art students from Donald College had their work accepted for the exhibition but are not able to attend the opening night as it clashes with their graduation.
"They'll have to have another little opening for themselves," Ms Fitzgerald said.
Cream of the Crop will open at 6pm on Friday. The exhibition runs until November 5.
