UPGRADES to Horsham courthouse are due next year.
A spokeswoman for the Magistrates Court of Victoria confirmed the project, worth $370,000, to the Mail-Times.
"(It) includes a new entry and exit that will enhance the security screening of those attending court, as well as a dedicated custody entry for Victoria Police to escort prisoners into the building," she said.
People accused of crimes held at Horsham Police Station prior to their court appearances currently have to be escorted along the Roberts Avenue street front and through the courthouse main entrance.
The announcement follows the installation of secure docks at the courthouse in the 2018-19 financial year.

Wimmera Law Association president Patrick Smith said Court Services Victoria was making the most of facilities in Horsham.
He said Wimmera residents might be surprised at who was facing court on any given day.
"A lot of the time, they are good people who have made a mistake and are there for that mistake," he said.
"It's not just one demographic ... these are people with jobs who are hard-working and contribute to the community through sports clubs and the like."
The Magistrates Court of Victoria spokeswoman said the organisation had no plans for magistrates to appear in regional courts via video link.
Law Institute of Victoria president Stuart Webb made this suggestion during a visit to Horsham on October 30, as a way to reduce waiting times for people needing to have their cases heard.
