Edenhope-Apsley's Taylor Milner has signed on to co-coach the senior side alongside second-year coach Brandon Weatherson.
A versatile midfielder, Milner previously coached Edenhope-Apsley's under-17s to a grand final in 2016.
Milner said the prospect of coaching and a family atmosphere attracted him to Dock Lake.
"I've always had a passion for coaching, and it's always something I've wanted to do," Milner said.
"And I think the club has really turned itself around over the last five years.
"It's become more of a family club, which I am really excited to be a part of. I have a baby on the way as well, so that is really appealing."
On the field, Taylors Lake showed vast improvement in 2019, winning more games than the previous two seasons combined.
Milner hoped the upward trend could continue.
"I'm not going to say we're going to win the flag, but as long as we can improve on last year, we'll be in a good spot," Milner said.
"Obviously the top teams are going to be hard to beat, but I think we'll step up into that middle tier.
"I'm not sure how far we can go this year, but I hope that in the coming years ... we're going to just keep building and building and building."
Joining Milner at the Lakers is a stack of new recruits, headlined by former Beaufort premiership player Lee Marshall, who has also signed on as an assistant coach.
Marshall said there were exciting times ahead.
"When I had a chat to Brandon early on, he was open and honest with me about where the club has come from and the improvement that they've shown," Marshall said.
"It's exciting to have such a young group of blokes and to see the improvement from last season, it will be good to build on that."
Taylors Lake has also signed former Edenhope-Apsley young gun Billy Finnigan. Finnigan had a tremendous first season in the seniors with the Saints, booting 19 goals and getting named in the best on nine occasions.
Jason Kannar has also returned to Dock Lake after a one-year stint coaching the Ararat Eagles, while Lachy Stevenson from Harrow-Balmoral, Marcus Rhook from Hamilton, Jesse Britton from the SMW Rovers, Will McArthur from Glenthompson-Dunkeld, Alex Hill and Tom Hutchins have also signed on.
