AT just 14-years-old, Horsham Lawn Tennis Club's Tahlia Thompson is one of the youngest pennant players competing this season.

This is the first time Tahlia has played pennant permanently after occasionally filling in last season.
She said a passion for tennis ran in her family.
"My dad (Brett) used to play, but he's playing cricket now," she said.
"My mum (Maree) plays tennis with me; it's been really good playing with her. I also get to play doubles with my friend Gemma (Walker).
"I really like playing against more experienced players because it challenges and benefits me, and teaches me how different people play."
They shared the goal ring together, with Tahlia playing goal attack and Maree at goal shooter. Tahlia was awarded best-on-court for the match.
This year Thalia played for Piminio's B-Grade team and won a premiership with the under-15s team.
Tahlia said she enjoyed playing both sports equally.
"I love both sports the same amount," she said.
"When you're playing doubles in tennis it's fun to play with someone else, and when you play singles and win you feel like you've accomplished so much.
"I love how netball is a team sport and you get to play with so many of your friends."
In the past Tahlia had the chance to play at the iconic Kooyong tennis courts in the Alicia Molik Cup.
She has also played basketball, volleyball, cricket and dancing.
Thalia will compete at next week's tennis state championships at Boroondara Tennis Centre in Balwyn representing Horsham College's year 8 girls team.
"We've all definitely improved this year so I think we've got a good chance at winning," Thalia said.
Horsham College sport co-ordinator Luke Carr he was confident the team would do well this year.
"The team has done exceptionally well this year," he said.
"This team went to the state finals last year too when they were in year 7 and placed third overall.
"They have really applied themselves and are a great bunch of kids who are always respectful to their competitors."
Mr Carr said the school had always excelled at tennis.
"We've always had teams do really well, but tennis isn't one of the popular sports at the college," he said.
"Our players have always been really good with their dedication to tennis."
Students will leave on Wednesday with the tournament running for all of Thursday.
Tahlia's Central Wimmera Tennis Association team Horsham Lawn Thompson will play Natimuk Tennis Club at home on Saturday.
