Former South Australian trainer Greg Norman, now based at Charlton, has an interesting runner in the second race, the Hygain Release NR 30-47 with his 6YO mare Rocknroll Baby.
Rocknroll Baby has drawn the pole first-up after a break of six months, without the benefit of any official trials. Now the winner of 19 races, Rocknroll Baby finished seventh on debut at Maryborough in March 2016 for Great Western trainer Peter Manning.
Her best effort from a further six starts for Manning was a third at Hamilton before crossing the border to Norman's stables in South Australia to post two victories.
In February 2017, Rocknroll Baby stepped out with a gait change at Globe Derby Park in a 3YO Trotters Handicap.
Rocknroll Baby went on to campaign successfully in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria notching up victories in the Mt Gambier, Port Pirie, Gramel and Kapunda Trotters cups, before finishing second behind Belts in Mildura's feature event.
Some Horsham harness followers may recall Rocknroll Baby mixing her gait when the tapes went back for the start of the 2018 Pegasus Spur Horsham Trotters Cup and finishing in sixth place, beaten 14m by Father Christmas.
In spring 2018, Rocknroll Baby joined the Western Australia stables of Gary Hall Senior.
After several botched attempts at the trot, she was switched back to the pacing game for 13 starts without success by the legendary and no doubt, frustrated horseman.
Forward then to Horsham tomorrow and the quirky mare is back with the trainer who knows her best.
Rocknroll Babe will likely start the race at flip of the coin odds, and plenty of punters will hold their breath when the green light is switched on.
Father and son Ian and Michael Stanley look hard to topple in the opener with 5YO mare Thedevilindisguise (6).
Thedevilindisguise is well graded as a two-time winner from 10 starts in the restricted class contest.
Their main obstacle may be another father/son combination.
Ashleigh and James Herbertson are with 6YO gelding Vuitton (8), which will enjoy a soft trip over the 2200-metre journey.
