Frazer Driscoll has been appointed as the Tigers' new assistant coach, having returned to his hometown club this season after a three-year stint with North Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League.
Macumber said the 22-year-old's inclusion in the coaching group was exciting.
"It's fantastic. Frazer is a great kid. He's really got his head in the right spot to be an assistant coach," he said.
"He's very passionate about the way the game is played and (he is) very passionate about the Nhill footy club as well.
"I'm very excited that he wants to put his hand up to be an assistant coach in 2020."
Driscoll's North Adelaide connections have helped Nhill's off-season recruitment.
Former teammate Eric 'Derm' Brereton has signed with the Tigers for the 2020 season.
Macumber said the 20-year-old was a handy pick up.
"He's coming along for a kick with us as well, which is great," he said.
"That's the age demographic we're looking to recruit to the club in the next few years, and Derm sounds like a great fella from all the conversations I've had with him. I think he'll fit in with the playing group very well."
Brereton proved his worth across half-back and in the midfield during his three seasons in the SANFL, but his new coach said it remained to seen where he'd line up for the Tigers.
"I haven't really thought much about it, to be honest, it's an open slate," Macumber said.
"He's played a bit at half-back and on the ball as well. He's got a couple of options and wherever he's enjoying his footy that's where he'll play."
Macumber was optimistic more signings would be confirmed in the coming months, with the club focused on luring back former locals to the club.
"With recruitment, we are looking to get any ex Nhill juniors back to come back to the club. That's the goal at the moment," he said.
Macumber said welcoming back former juniors would help the club sustain the strong community focus it has built in recent seasons.
"The idea is that we want to get back as many Nhill people back to the club as we can," he said.
"We want them to join back in and be a part of what we were are trying to build and achieve over the next few years and make the town continue to be proud of their footy club."
