At the Australia and New Zealand Adventure Tourism awards night, the Halls Gap accommodation property clinched both titles within the backpacker, youth and adventure travel sector.
Up against accommodation providers from all around the country, hostel managers Kellie and Gary Hampson pride themselves on their proven abilities to connect with their guests and ensure every visitor feels like they are staying at a 'home away from home'.
"We've travelled and understand that Australia can be the furthest they are ever going to be away from home," Mrs Hampson said.
"Our guests become part of our family and we look out for them.
"We want them to have a clean, comfortable and safe place for them to rest their head at the end of the day."
YHA nominated Grampians Eco for the award and the property's submission and customer reviews were taken into consideration through the judging process.
"There was a panel of judges who went through our submission and looked at the votes and put it together," Mrs Hampson said.
"It's absolutely an amazing thing.
"I got a Facebook messenger call on the night of the awards to tell us we'd won."
Mr and Mrs Hampson have managed the accommodation for about two and a half years.
"I had lived here before and ran the lodge," Mrs Hampson said.
"I came back after being away for seven years with Gary. We're just keeping the place going and the gardens maintained."
Mrs Hampson said she prides herself on the support her family gives to those staying at the property.
"I think it's one aspect which certainly stands us out against the others who would have been up for the award," she said.
"We live on-site, and happily give every guest a tour of the property, show them to their room and share insider knowledge on the best local activities and help guests book tours and experiences in-house.
"The property is both stylish and eco-certified and was architecturally designed with the environment in mind with many sustainable practices and energy-saving initiatives in place."
