Nhill Police Sergeant Matt Currow said the driver was caught above the speed limit heading east on the Western Highway at around 8.30PM.

"Police attempted to intercept the vehicle for speeding, and it accelerated to in excess of 200 kilometres an hour," Sergeant Currow said.

The person was driving a red Holden Commodore Ute.

Sergeant Currow asked anyone with dash cam footage or information to contact the Nhill Police Station.
