Jennings decided tennis was his summer sport of choice at a very young age.

"My old man was a cricketer and he was pretty keen to get me playing, but he tells me every time he gave me a cricket bat, I would cry, throw a tantrum and pick up a tennis racquet," Jennings said.

"I think that's how it started, when I was about four."

Jennings now describes himself as "the oldest 31-year-old in the Wimmera", as he spends the majority of the working-week recovering for the next Saturday of tennis.

Despite seemingly always carrying an injury, Jennings is yet to lose a singles rubber this season in A Special, and has lost only one across the last several seasons.

It has helped propel Noradjuha to the top of the ladder this season with seven wins from eight rounds.

"It's pretty cool this year. We're still mostly the same team that was playing B Special a few years ago, so it shows how much we've improved," Jennings said.

"We're just that bit more confident this season."

While he doesn't take things too seriously - Jennings said Noradjuha's best work came at the Vic Hotel on a Saturday after the match - Jennings admitted he doesn't like losing.

"I certainly enjoy the social side of it. Probably a little too much," Jennings joked.

"But I don't like losing. I try to do everything I can to help the team win.

"I've certainly mellowed a little bit since I've got older. I don't crack it anymore ... but I do hate losing."
