Mr Jelly and real estate agency Coller Rathgeber Property Group confirmed on Thursday the Wilson Street venue had been sold.
Mr Jelly said: "There has been a fair bit of pressure because I also run WImmera Outdoors, Sportspower and the surf shop."
He said his experience owning the hotel had been "thoroughly enjoyable", and that his favorite memory was getting the venue "up and going again" after a fire gutted it in 2018.

"A thrilling part was developing it back into a respectable pub, and building up 8-ball competitions with eight teams. We've also introduced poker and darts tournaments," he said.
CRPG principal Tim Coller said it had been bought by a Melbourne consortium with development plans for the building.
He said it would likely announce these plans in the new year. He could not disclose the amount it sold for.
