Residents at the seniors community experienced some intergenerational joy as 80 prep students from the school, along with four staff, performed a concert of Christmas carols on Wednesday.
Ingenia Gardens Horsham community manager Barb Cavanagh praised the staff and students for their showmanship.
"Kelly Mayes, the teacher of the classes, does fantastic work as I'm sure it can't be easy teaching so many students to learn the lines and sing the tunes," she said.
Mrs Cavanagh said following the performance, the students had a meet and greet with the residents and asked curious questions.
"(The children were) asking such questions as, 'Is your hair real?' to one resident who has white hair," she said.
Mrs Cavanagh said the residents gave the prep students handmade candy cane reindeer to thank them for their time and wish them a Merry Christmas.
She said she had been working to facilitate regular visits from primary school students to Ingenia Gardens Horsham because it promoted inclusion.
"My aim is to develop a better understanding among the children about our ageing population," she said. "Some of the children don't have grandparents and some of the residents don't have grandchildren."
