The top three sides Nhill 1, Sunnyside1 and Dimboola 1 won comfortably, and will all play finals.
City 1 played a draw with Coughlin Park 1 to keep the door slightly ajar for Horsham Golf 1.
Nhill 1 went down to play Golf 1 and made yet another statement of their strength by taking all three rinks, the closest being a two shot win for the Alan King team over the Ash Batchelor rink.
But it was Ryder Byrnes, "Cat" Ryan, Darren Gebert, and "Fox" Jones who had the biggest margin, winning by eight shots over Danny Scmidt's rink.
City 1 got nine points for their draw with a depleted Coughlin Park 1.
With a few bowlers cruising the Shaky Isles, and other unavailabilities, the Coughlin Park green kryptonite and a fighting performance from the the bowlers who took the park saw the Parkers battle to a 69 all draw.
Across at Dimboola the third ranked side had a comfortable win over Kaniva 1.
"Boof" Argall, Cliff Unger, Greg Cook and Skipper Geoff Gazelle did it so comfotably that I reckon I might have heard Boof and Geoff give each other a few compliments.
They won by 24 shots and "Banger" Krahe won by five on his lane.
It was a big win for Sunnyside 1 over Coughlin Park 2.
The Siders doubled the depleted Parkers, with Rex Bergen having an outstanding day to lead his rink home by 26.
Sunnyside 1 would be glad to bank every point they could as the battle for the double chance will go down to the wire.
With the completion of a full round of Division 2, the long awaited clash of the two Sunnyside teams eventuated.
The result favoured form and not the number that followed the team name. Sunnyside 3 were the victors by 13 shots over Sunnyside 2.
It was a triple treat for the third side as they took all three rinks, with two tight matches, but the rink of Jim Hadden, Terry Miller, Elaine McFarlane and Barry Gross skipping were biggest winners by eight shots.
Edenhope have moved up to second on the ladder after another good win, this time by nine shots over Horsham City 2.
A three shot win to Wayne Caldow's rink for the Lake Siders, but Billy Hogan pulled two back for the City 2 side.
Once again it was Bruce Ackland and his men who got the job done with an eight shot win.
Coughlin Park 3 got a 31 shot win up at Dimboola over the Dimmy 2 combination, with the "Dominator" Daryl Giddings pointing those pink bowls to the right spots in his rink's 16 shot win.
Natimuk are pushing towards finals after accounting for Goroke, and Horsham Golf 2 climbed past Nhill 2 to third spot when they accounted for Nhill 2 by 23 shots.
It would have been a pretty tight match if not for the 28 shot win by Chris Mellor, Andrew Cowell, Russell Smith and Kevin Walsh (s).
I don't know whether it was good management or good luck - I will give credit to the administrators - but what a great thing to have:
- the Nhill and Golf Division 1 and 2 sides playing together on the one day
- just as the two Edenhope sides hosted the Horsham City 2 and 3 teams
- and the two Sunnyside local derbies in Division 2 and 3 playing on the same day, as well as having their first side at home.
I hate to say it but the top four in weekend Division 3 looks decided, with City 3 well out on top, then Sunnyside 4 and City 4, with Nhill 3 in fourth spot 23 shots clear of fifth side Sunnyside 5.
City 4 put a bit of a breather between themselves and Nhill 3 by taking a 14 shot win in their match. Major winners were the Mitchells, Henry and Elaine, playing with Ed Warrick, and Gerald Murphy (s).
In the other all Sunnyside clash, it was the fourth side that came to the fore, but the fifth side took four points by winning a couple of rinks.
Once again the sun shone down on Brian Simonds rink as they got up by 24 shots.
Coughlin Park 4 and Golf 3 had a pretty good battle, but a 13 shot win to Mike John and his rink helped get Golfers up by nine.
Down at Edenhope, their second side went down to Horsham City 3 by 21 shots, with most of that coming from the 20 shot win Wayne Gray, Greg Dixon, Tom Blair and Michael Tucker (s) for the City side.
The long awaited clash of the two Sunnyside teams eventuated. The result favoured form and not the number that followed the team name. Sunnyside 3 were victors by 13 shots over Sunnyside 2
In association news, the Wimmera had a win over the Lower South East Bowls Association in their annual match.
Played at Edenhope the Wimmera won for the first time in six years 217 shots to 169.
The rinks skipped by "Fox" Jones and "Billy" Kemp were the biggest winners on the day against the competition that is based around Mt Gambier and Naracoorte.
