After months of hold ups due to a number of circumstances, final touches are being put on the upgrades.
Northern Grampians Shire councillor Jason Hosemans said landscaping was to be done to "tidy the area".
"It's taken a little longer than we initially anticipated and has made a great visual impact," he said.
"Council are also hoping to look at construction of a Peaks Trail head in halls Gap. It's something which will be discussed at the resident's and ratepayers meeting this month.
"We're hoping to build some paths along Stoney Creek, from the shops to the start of the peaks trail."
The proposed new pedestrian bridge, part of the project, has been delayed. Cr Hosemans said
"Parts need to be replaced and a stronger design needs to be done," he said.
"The pedestrian bridge will be out of action for about two weeks while it's getting built - it's not going to be as simple as first proposed unfortunately.
"All the drawings have been done but because of the extra cost, this part of the project will have to go back to tender and follow the right processes.
"Unfortunately this won't be completed until some time next year but we're hopefully it will be in place before the Easter period."
Cr Hosemans said the block of land next to the petrol station is Council owned land and will be upgraded to allow for extra car parking space in the town centre.
