"When they arrived the 30 by 70 metres shed was fully involved, and it looked like it had spread to a grain shed that was 20 by 40 metres and which contained approximately 400 hay bales," she said.
She said the hay fire was likely to continue smouldering into Saturday, and that there was no word on how the fire started as of Friday night.
The scene was declared safe at 7pm, however the spokeswoman said the CFA's Netherby tanker would stay on the scene overnight
At 3.14pm on Friday, the organisation shared a warning, saying smoke from a haystack fire in the area will be visible from nearby roads and communities.
