POLICE have intercepted a man driving at 67km/h above the speed limit along the Sunraysia Highway Thursday morning.

The driver was travelling at 167km/h in a 100 km/h zone in Cope Cope when he was stopped by police.
Sergeant Bill Alford, of St Arnaud, said the driver's vehicle was impounded for 30 days "at a cost of $2375".
The driver will also receive a summons to attend court, where he will face two charges of exceeding the speed limit and driving at a dangerous speed.
