Powercor has thanked customers for their patience as they restored power section-by-section by 5.30. A spokesman said the cause couldn't be identified.
5pm: 1351 properties across the Wimmera are without power due to a fault on the Western Highway at Nhill.
The blackout occurred about 4pm on Wednesday.
Powercor is investigating the cause.
It has affected 684 homes in Kaniva, 165 in Nhill, and 129 in Serviceton.

Nearly 100 Lillimur properties, 83 Yanac properties and 82 Telopea Downs properties are also affected.
About 60 homes across Miram and Lawloit are also without power.
Powercor estimates power will be restored by 7pm.
