Wimmera golf clubs joined the growing list of places shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic on Saturday, after a nationwide Golf Australia recommendation.

Among others, the Horsham Golf Club and Nhill Golf Club announced the courses would be shut to both members and the general public until at least April 13.
The first case of coronavirus in the Horsham Rural City municipality was also confirmed by the Department of Health on Saturday afternoon.
"We are sorry for not being able to provide golf for our members and the wider community but we need to ensure that we are in step with the rest of society in minimising the spread of COVID-19," Horsham Golf Club president Leo Delahunty said.
"We hope that this closure will not be for an extended period but it is important that we adhere to all of the regulators advice including general hygiene, social distancing and minimising the need to travel unless it is essential."
