Fire danger restrictions in District 17, which includes West Wimmera Shire Council, Horsham Rural City Council, Yarriambiack Shire Council and Hindmarsh Shire Council, have been removed.

This comes as the CFA announced the fire danger period would end in Ararat and Northern Grampians on April 13.

CFA District 17 commander Andrew McCartney said he was still wishing to make sure the public was mindful there were still days that would present fire danger.

"We can still see a spike in days where it is warm and the wind conditions are bad," he said.

Mr McCartney said it was important people were aware of the local laws regulating permits.

"If in any doubt ring your Council or District 17," he said. "If someone does do a burn off it is wise to communicate that with your neighbours.

"Make sure there are adults present, sufficient water, clear the area three metres around and above and keep it minimal."

Mr McCartney said the community response during the fire danger period this season had been good.

"The knowledge in areas with relation to farming practices has improved in recent years, with CFA education and harvesting practices guiding better management," he said.
