Leading Senior Constable Cal Myers said after an investigation by highway patrol today, the matter will be closed.
"The driver of the semi trailer followed all possible precautions and safety measures, so the matter will be deemed an accident," he said.
Earlier: Dimboola police were called into action on Monday night after a semi trailer lost part of its load.
Leading Senior Constable Cal Myers said officers were forced to close part of the Western Highway east of Nhill.
"The driver was travelling on the Western Highway when it lost about eight heavy metal rods weighing more than 200kg each," he said.
"Due to the size and weight of these objects, police closed one lane for almost two hours while a crane was bought in to clean up the cargo.
"Fortunately no one was hurt."
No charges were laid.
