Based at Maydale Reserve, Horsham Showgrounds, singer-songwriter Alice Skye belted out her tunes to patrons sitting in their cars listening to the "Art is..." festival through the radio.
Venue manager of Maydale Reserve Andrea Cross said the organisers had some trepidation leading into the event but the turnout exceeded expectations.
"It's really encouraging the turn out we received," she said.
"Putting on an event in the current circumstances is really trying."
Mrs Cross said there were more than 70 cars which attended.
"I would say there were two or more people in every car," she said.
"It was wonderful to see a family come all the way from Rainbow.
"The crowd really responded to the concert as well. If you lived in Horsham you might have heard the car horns as people were engaged with the performers."
Mrs Cross said the lead act Alice Skye made a comment that car horns were not something she was a fan of but was really happy to hear them on the night.
"We've had a few enquiries already to see if we would host an Art is.. event like it again," she said.
"Given the success, it certainly will be looked in to."
